Custom Handmade Birthday Card "Long Distance Friendship"

When two people are separated by distance, it's not easy to maintain the relationship or friendship. There's the issue of absence, even though sometimes being away from each other, help to strengthen the relationship. But at the same time, if you have developed a strong relationship or friendship, it's a a lot of hard work to keep in touch with each other and even with the use of technology, nothing beats seeing each other in physical form.

This card has a centralized message in between which I printed using photo paper and cut according to the silhouette. I then selected papers and embellishments that were in shades of pastel to create the overall look.

At the corner of the card, I've added a cut out of a tea cup from Bluefern Studios which I then propped up against a chipboard from Prima Marketing. I've also added subtles of gold by cutting two edges off a gold doily and layered them in between the paper collages.

I finished off the card with some watercolouring between those layers and at the edge of the paper collage. A splatter of paint in blue dye ink and finally, a small pink pearl swirl to give the card a feminine look.
